Carbonair’s patented STAT Low Profile Air Strippers are ideally suited for removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from water in a variety of applications including municipal drinking water treatment, groundwater remediation and industrial process and waste water treatment with flow from rates from 1 to 1000 gpm per unit.
Carbonair’s PC Series, MPC Series, and LPC Series liquid phase carbon vessels are designed for the removal of dissolved contaminants from water streams in a variety of applications. Carbonair’s GPC Series vapor phase carbon vessels are designed to provide an efficient and economical means to reduce VOCs, corrosive gases, toxic vapors, and to control odor in contaminated gas streams. Carbonair’s GPC Series vapor phase carbon vessels can be filled with several types of granular activated carbons and other specialty filter media for a variety of applications.
Carbonair offers a full line of granular activated carbon and other vapor phase filter media that can be applied in vapor phase applications including virgin coal based activated carbon (granular and pellets), virgin coconut based activated carbon, reactivated carbon and impregnated activated carbons for treatment of sulfur compounds, mercury, ammonia and amines, as well as other specialty filter media.
Soil and Groundwater remediation projects often call for treatment of groundwater, soil vapor extraction condensate, soil vapor and other liquid and vapor streams for removal of volatile and semi volatile organic compounds. Carbonair has provided thousands of STAT Low Profile Air Strippers, liquid phase and vapor phase carbon vessels for remediation systems over our 30 plus years in business.
Municipalities are often faced with VOC contamination of their source wells. Chemicals like Vinyl Chloride and Trichloroethylene can leach into aquifers used as source water for municipal wells. When this occurs, in many cases the most cost effective solution is to treat the water to remove the VOCs using air stripping, which has been established as a Best Available Control Technology BACT for this application. This challenge has grown recently with the promulgation of new regulations lowering the levels of Disinfection By Products allowed in municipal drinking water. These byproducts, called Trihalomethanes or THMs, can be effectively removed with Carbonair’s STAT Low Profile Air Strippers. Other contaminants effectively removed by STAT Low Profile Air Strippers include Vinyl Chloride, Trichloroethylene and Benzene. When treating these compounds in municipal drinking water, Carbonair’s STAT Low Profile Air Strippers can often treat the water more cost effectively than the more commonly used granular activated carbon systems.
Industrial process and wastewater can contain volatile organic compounds (VOCS) that can have a negative effect on the production process or downstream waste water treatment processes.
