Coal Ash Pond Water Treatment and Remediation

ProAct Trailer with CCR Pond Remediation EquipmentCarbonair and ProAct teamed to form a custom solution for the rising need to treat coal ash pond water. Coal ash, also referred to as coal combustion residuals or CCR, is produced primarily from the burning of coal in coal-fired power plants. Recent regulatory changes have encouraged utility providers to be proactive in the dewatering and closure of historic coal ash ponds, resulting in an emerging need for this type of treatment.

In addition to the large equipment scope, the ProAct/Carbonair team is providing 24/7 staffing and on-site project management for this high profile project. Please give us a call to discuss your Coal Ash Water Treatment needs.

The water treatment system is designed to provide treatment of suspended solids, dissolved metals and pH control. The system provides automated pH adjustment and a combination of polymers to enhance the flocculation of fine particulates which are commonly found in coal ash residuals.
